To ensure your tattoo appointment is a good time, I propose 9 golden rules:
1. YOU WILL BE WELL RESTED.
Get a good night's sleep the night before (no wild nights), your body will then be more resistant to pain.
2. EAT WELL BEFOREHAND.
Getting a tattoo requires a high calorie expenditure, so to avoid feeling weak, eat well beforehand.
Consider bringing a small snack in case the tattoo session lasts a long time.
3. STAY HYDRATED!
To stay cool, drink water before, during and after the session.
Don't hesitate to ask for breaks during the tattooing process to drink some water.
4. KEEP YOUR SKIN WELL HYDRATED DURING THE WEEK BEFORE THE SESSION.
Take care of your skin with a moisturizing cream or natural product (coconut oil, aloe vera, shea butter…),
avoid excessive sun exposure and avoid exfoliating scrubs that irritate the skin
(If there is sunburn or alopecia, the tattoo cannot be done).
5. SHAVE THE AREA TO BE TATTOOED THE DAY BEFORE (EVEN THE DOWN!).
No hair removal because it makes the skin too sensitive.
Be careful not to cut yourself, I don't tattoo over a fresh wound.
(I can also do it during the appointment, don't worry).
6. WEAR APPROPRIATE OUTFIT (IT'S NOT FASHION WEEK).
Opt for breathable clothing, made of natural material (cotton), spacious and comfortable (to be comfortable), practical depending on the area to be tattooed (especially if you are not very comfortable with nudity) and dark (to avoid stains).
7. BE POSITIVE AND RELAXED.
Ask the questions that worry you before, during and after.
Share your emotions, find out more a maximum to fully understand the process of getting a tattoo.
8. NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE THE SESSION (IT WON'T RELAX ANYONE).
This thins the blood and makes tattooing difficult. This will not relax you and may even put you/us in danger (discomfort).
We are also not immune to a paranoid bad trip: I tattoo you, I hurt you, I am evil, you fight for your survival, you attack me (I'm barely exaggerating, but know that I've done aikido...).
Also note that the pain will be worsebecause your body will be tired and will "reject" what is happening, and therefore the healing will be less effective.
Also avoid medications like aspirin and if you are undergoing treatment, please consult your doctor.
And what about numbing cream? I'll tell you more in this article!
9. YOU WILL BE WELL ORGANIZED.
Préparez bien votre rendez-vous, plan your journey and the time so you don't have to rush and therefore stress unnecessarily.
(Please note that if you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled.)
Remember to bring something to eat and drink, and perhaps something to keep you occupied if the session is long.
And don't plan anything after your appointment., it is important not to be rushed by time or preoccupied with an appointment right after.
After getting a tattoo, you need to take care of yourself and rest for better healing.
