The 7 steps of a tattoo project:
1. Together, we define the outlines of your project through a few simple questions :
- On which area of your body do you want your future tattoo?
Send me a photo of the area if possible (this is not mandatory) with a scale reference (ruler or credit card size map) - How big would you like your future tattoo to be?
I ABSOLUTELY need the dimensions in cm (height and width), even an approximate one, to be measured directly on your body with a measuring tape or ruler. - What are the motif(s) of your dreams? Is there a story behind your project? Feel free to send me examples; seeing a sketch always helps a lot to know what you envision.
This first step allows us to assess the feasibility*the price and the time required to complete.
Without ALL these elements, it is impossible to start a project.
*I reserve the right to refuse a project if it is not in line with my style or my "convictions".
*I also remind you that we don't do "copy-paste", I'll tell you more in this article!
2. We set a date together for the big day:
If the quote suits you, we'll discuss scheduling to find a time slot that works for everyone. To book an appointment, simply send me an email with your availability, or, for a quicker and easier option, check my online availability calendar. : SEE THE CALENDAR
The appointment date is confirmed by the payment of a deposit (approximately 30% of the previously estimated price). We do not start drawing before the deposit is paid; the deposit represents almost half of the work, and we do not work for free.
3. I am preparing the mock-up of your project:
First of all, a graphic research work (I remind you: feel free to send a sketch or examples of what you envision.).
Then, a first draft is sent to you. Depending on the complexity of the project, this can take several hours, or even several days. to find good ideas and create a design in harmony with your desires, your personality and your body, you need to be patient.
Finally we'll exchange emails to finalize your project together. We count maximum 5 round trips for modifications (while remaining within the area defined before the deposit was paid). Sometimes the first drawing is the right one!
If, however, these 5 exchanges are not enough, if the design does not correspond to your desires and you need to completely redefine the project (example: initially it was a floral composition and finally what suits you best are butterflies), this will result in an additional charge corresponding to the amount of the deposit because it is a new project. It is by moving forward and seeing the project take shape that we realize what we like or what really suits us and that's okay (you have the right to make mistakes, it's difficult to know yourself by heart).**
4. The project design is approved!
I prefer to approve the design before the final meeting so that everyone is relaxed when they arrive at the show. We avoid the "ah, today's the appointment, I hope I'll like the drawing... I'm afraid I'll be disappointed..." No, no, no. You arrive knowing the reason, you are psychologically prepared to what will be on your skin and you can already visualize it.
And for me too, it allows me to be more serene, to visualize more easily what I have to do and to evaluate my working time more accurately.
I therefore work as quickly and efficiently as possible to bring you this peace of mind.
5. The big day has arrived..!
The tracing paper is ready; it's printed. Now we need to see how it applies to your project.
Now is the time to ask the right questions and answer them HONESTLY:
Is the size correct?
– Is the location good?
– Do you like the design once it's "worn"?
Be careful, modifying the design at the last minute or if the size of the tattoo increases, canlead to overbilling (This doesn't happen with a snap of the fingers, we're not magicians).
6. Let’s go!
You ask all your questions, you sign the waiver (a simple document stating that you agree to be tattooed by me) and you relax.
I prepare the tattooing area and the equipment (single-use and/or sterile).
We lay down the stencil together. : now is the perfect time to ask for it to be replaced (Even 100 times, it's important to be sure)
Are you ready? If you are unfamiliar with the practice of tattooing or if you have any apprehensions, know that you are in a safe place where I am here to listen to you, reassure you, and support you.. Nothing will be done without your consent and we'll take all the time we need to tattoo at your pace. I won't tattoo you until you're ready, and I always start by doing just a small dot to give you an idea of the sensation.
We make a first stitch… then a line… here we go!
7. You are inked!
