Making holes in the skin to put ink in is crazy
and it's not necessarily painless (I explain everything about the pain in this article).
Numbing cream (from the feedback I've received) is not that effective.
Sometimes it doesn't change anything, sometimes it does lessen the pain, but the pain returns once the product is absorbed…
The price isn't always cheap (especially "special tattoo" creams)!
Applying anesthetic cream (or a patch) is not forbidden, it is even OK sometimes because it helps (real effect or placebo effect? who knows…).
Personally, I don't offer it and I don't recommend it because, from my technical point of view, it slightly changes the texture of the skin, making it harder and less pleasant/easy to tattoo.
